  • Hi searchin4music......wow 2009....I dont remember the amp I had....it was probably my Fender hot rod deluxe....definitely a tube amp.....yeah thats the one....thanks for nice comments....I was drifting a little and hit a few bad notes...I can't concentrate too long on extended soloing! But the Epi SG does have a great tone....but you NEED the right setting on a nice tube amp! The LP with P90's will be very close....use the bridge pickup. Adjust the amp gain to about 2.....

  • Well I have seen them in USA when you can actually find one, selling for around $300-$350.........If you can get a real late 90's version with the P90. These are BETTER than any of the pieces of SHIT Epiphone is trying sell these days. This guitar has a better tone than many Gibsons! If yours is in MINT condition sell it for as much as you can. You cant get these anymore and used one are as rare as hens teeth.

  • Whats a "Horder?"

  • did you have this pickup installed or is it the stock pickup ?

  • @YAHOO2398 This is the pickup that came with guitar. Very good tone for an Epiphone, but these guitars were made back when Epiphone made 'em RIGHT! I like P90's so much I had a set of GFS Mean 90's installed in my GIBSON SG Special. What a BIG difference in playability and tone. I will NEVER go back to humbuckers again. They are too thick/muddy/undefined to record with and I couldnt play with full volume unless I used the bridge pickup.

  • Well it is a matter of personal preference. I have and had many guitars, I prefer this one lately. Very simple and easy to play. A new Casino is worth way more than this one though. These are almost impossible to find though.

The Casino would be more versatile tone-wise. Personally if I had only 1 guitar it would be the casino. But its a tough call......

  • Really nice playing, great tone AND: You have an incredible style. Reminds me of many of my most favourite records. Keep playing.

The Epi sounds exactly how I want a guitar to sound like - sounds real vintage - it´s the sound I want to get in a Les Paul with P90s.

May I ask what amplifier you used?

  • @w1av Agreed, but another $100 spent at GuitarFetish into one of the $120 ones Epi is selling now = far better than that. It sits in the rack with several $800-1500 guitars. Just goes to show what you can coax out of an instrument if you know what you're doing.

  • hi, i have one of these in black, bought it of a friend for £100 in mint conditon , i want to sell it on ebay, any suggestions of how high i should price it?
