In this short video Ben van Dijk demostrates a new line of wooden mutes for bass trombone.
Ben helped Tools4Winds with the development of these Straight-, Cup- and Bucket mutes.
Easy to play mutes with very good response in all registers and dynamics and with great intonation!
These wonderful mutes are available:

  • The cup mute sounds very nice! The bucket sounds nice as well. The straight mute sounds too open for my personal taste, but I can see how its free-blowing nature would benefit an orchestral player. Are the mutes very heavy?

    Hi my friend,

thanks for the nice words. About the weight of the mutes. They are very light. More light then any mute I have tried.

    Greetings,

    Ben

  • Wow, really liked Shadow of Your Smile with the bucket. Just great.

  • Hi Ben,

nice commercial! I've heard these mutes in many different situations now and I must say that they do sound really great. I especially like the adjustable bucket mute. It's really nice to experiment a bit with it till you get the sound you're looking for. This together with the low weight of the mutes and easy playing in all registers makes this set a great addition to the existing mutes!!

  • Wow Ben van Dijk, a bass trombone player than I can say influenced my playing, up there next to Douglas Yeo...

  • I was a bit leery of what the straight mute would sound like. I'm used to metal straight mutes that provide that nice tinny resonating sound that increases with volume.

The wooden mute somehow manages to achieve the same thing.

Thanks for letting us know about these.

  • I need a mute that makes me sound like Ben van Dijk!

Thanks very much for this informative demo.

  • From 15th till 31st of March the basstrombone straight mute for a SPECIAL PRICE !!!!!!

  • ah you are very big in buisness

  • I also have this great line of mutes and they really work amazing!
