Because machines don't have SOUL. If bands wanted the best technically skilled guitarists for their lineup they'd pull some out of the classical guitar school and put them to work on their stuff and play it to exacts but then it's missing the entire point because it's not meant to be precise, it's the performance and the energy that comes across.
Otherwise what would even be the point going to a concert?

@09011994 drums can easily be replaced by a machine too, anything could provided the technology is good enough. someday machines will play better than humans can anyways, so i really dont get what your point is..can u explain why u think keyboards are so different? other than that they 'dont take talent"? because they DO take talent to play so thats a shitty argument to present

@09011994 yeah, wtf are u talking about? piano/keyboards are an instrument - just like guitar and drums are. i love how ppl think that if they say something that is completely untrue and just an opinion in their own heads, it becomes fact once said. NO DUDE. keyboardists ARE part of the band, you are wrong. period. samplers are debatable, but keyboards are instruments played by humans. they take skill to play. samplers actually do too, matter of fact...

@CoachE89 There jobs could easily be replaced by a machine. playing a guitar or drums takes talent, hitting a few keys to play a sample doesnt.
