This is an animation I did of a highly detailed model of a Colt .45 Model 1911.
It was done in 3DS Max and Vray with the video production done in Sony Vegas.
The gunflash/smoke was done with Afterburn.
All of the internal parts are there and are animated, though you can only see that in the wire frame :)

  • Who was that gunnery sergeant?

  • @narnianhero

That was Gunnery Sergent Leland "Lou" Diamond who was a classic old breed Marine. Some say "THE" Marine.

An interesting guy, worth reading about if you are into that kind of history.

You are the only one who has ever asked. Thanks for watching.

  • @FubbyDoo at 0:38, you forgot to add the sear and disconnector.

  • @papergonewrong

  • Superb modelling!

  • @HotElectonePlayer

Thank you! Glad you liked it.

  • To think John Browning did this with a pencil and a piece of paper....

  • Now take it to a 3D printer, make molds out of it to make the metal parts and PROFIT :-p
