Does anyone know if there is some sort of adapter that allows you to have 2 or more computers connected to one screen, so you can switch between the two?

My mom's laptop could do this, or... Well - Probaly with a triplehead to go and if you count the included one.. This isnt hard, let's see you play Crysis with the same Computer (same resulution ofc xD)

Easy there kid, its called 2 GTX295s and a laptop need to have a GPU that supports 2 monitors, this guy is running crossfire or SLI to get 4 monitors on a very powerful CPU.

SLI doesn't support multi-displays, only Crossfire.

The reason it's better than one big screen is the resolution. sure you can get a single massive screen, but to get one above 1920x1080 (1080P or i) is REALLY REALLY expensive. so using a single monitor would look like shit. I use 6 screens on my system at a total resolution of 3840x2048. and it didn't cost much. The point is to look at a lot of stuff at once, not one very big image. ...once you go multi-head, you never go back.
