What do hu.mans pretend to achieve by granting mother earth "legal rights"?

Mother Nature is not an object to be sold & bought.

Bounding Urantia to a man-made flawed bureaucratic system is foolish.

Will it mean that if there is an earthquake or hurricane that kills thousands of humans Mother Earth has now to pay?

or is it just another excuse to tax corporations from polluting? what for? governments keep giving money away to corporations anyways...

Then, why this?

I understand certain countries have understood the need to protect the environment and the fragile ecosystem, and that's great.

I hope we can become more conscious and begun respecting nature, not because a law says so, but because our heart knows so.
