What Happens When You Shoot An LCD Screen, part 1

I had a dead 15 year-old laptop kicking around, so I decided to see what happens when I shoot the screen with an air-soft gun that shoots 6mm plastic shots at 350 feet per second.

The shot seems to blow up the individual pixel cells and causes the liquid crystals to leak out to the rest of the screen. The black spots are where I shot the screen, and bigger spots usually mean that I shot the spot several times. No liquid crystals ever leaked out, despite breaking the front plastic in a few spots (not that it'd be a problem though: liquid crystals aren't toxic).
