@Gluvut so did mine today, the latch just snappppppped... bummer. u buy a new one ?
-
@goprotasha yeah the latch actually snapped.
-
@Gluvut did the latch itself break or did it just come off the housing. because the latch itself comes off the housing and splits into 2 pieces. i know because i figured it out the hard way. i thought i broke the latch but it just took a little time to figure how it snaps back together and back into the housing.

@jdeluisa ahh my latch broke as well do you know where i can get a new one?

the jarring contributes to the picture tearing effect. Needs shock absorbers.

What quality was this recorded at? Any compression before it was uploaded? Do you think mounting it on the helmet would help reduce some of that "jelly effect" and other associated jarring?

I don't quite remember the resolution, but I believe it was recorded at 1080p. I processed the video in iMovie. Currently, YouTube is compressing the video to 720p once it is uploaded. It is my understanding that the best resolution for youtube is 720p at 60fps. Not sure about the helmet - in the KTM videos the camera is mounted on the helmet and I think it worked well.

@skater1on1 I mounted the camera on my dirt helmet for the KTM XC 300 videos. I think it helped a lot with the jarring. Thanks for watching.

hey .. like the vid .. how did you mount yours, with the suction cup mount ?
andreels 2 years ago
Thanks, Mounted it to the faux "Tank" with the suction cup mount. Worked pretty well. Mounted it to the number plate on my KTM, but the battery was dead somehow. So I took it out of the case to charge it, and the black plastic latch that holds the clear waterproof housing together broke. I am interested to see how GoPro handles it. The "Front Surf at Sleeping Beauty" video was shot with the VIoSport helmet camera which is about 5 years old now. Big difference in quality and resolution.
