At That First Eucharist, notice at the end of the clip I pushed the piston and one of the stop buttons came popping off the organ. This was in the middle mass too!

  • In your church, does the choir get communion first or last? Just asking.

  • Since the choir and organ are located in the front of the church behind the priest's chair, they are one of the first to receive communion. I'll usually play in the background until they return, then we start the communion song.

  • just out of curiosity what stop was it that fell of

  • It was the 4' Flute A Fuseau stop that popped off when I pushed the piston at the end of the song. For a couple of months I had to stick my finger in there to activate the stop. Peragallo fixed it during their last visit, although I'm not sure if they put a new stop tab or used some glue.

  • Well played, but the priest should really take off his mike when singing.

  • That's me singing... Two of the three masses I play each weekend don't have the choir. So that means I'm both organist and cantor. :)

  • I sing this at my Catholic church all the time.

  • From 1979 until 1985 I was organist in several Catholic churches, and this was one of my favorite hymns. I also liked "Take my hands and make them as your own," and "I have loved you with an everlasting love" from Glory and Praise. For the past 20 years I've been organist in a Lutheran Church and sub organist in my Episcopal parish.

  • I love this hymn. It always brings tears to my eyes when I hear it on Corpus Christi day.

  • I love this one. Ours is exactally 21 didgets up from that. I think it's 754. Always a Communion

  • Religion is dangerous and pointless.

  • Lucky it was only the stop that came out. I was playing once and the F key on the great manual came off in my finger. A bit of glue sorted that problem out though. Great playing as always!

  • Very well performed!

  • Beautiful song! Reminds me of growing up in the Church in the '70s! Thanks for sharing.
