Isa Kremer, soprano, singing three Russian songs, from three Brunswick 78-RPM ten-inch discs.
The songs presented in this video are--
1) Leissa Leissa, recorded at Brunswick's New York studios on 28 April 1923;
2) Raspaschol, also on 28 April 1923; and
3) Sladko Piel Dusha Solovushko, probably recorded at Brunswick's New York studios, probably on 26 May 1926.
Biographical information about Mme. Kremer can be found in the Description accompanying my upload of 'Isa Kremer -- Three Yiddish Songs of Love'.
Since my knowledge of Russian does not extend much beyond knowing that 'piroshki' is the plural of 'pirojok', I will not attempt a translation of the lyrics for these songs. Any volunteer translator is welcome to post his or her Englished version as a Comment. Bolshoi spasibo.
PS: These are old, very-often-played discs, the first having two large cracks through it. Any further audio processing would overwhelm the artistry with artifacts. Please adjust your ears accordingly; I believe the performances are worth the trouble.
