Correct me if I'm wrong I think there are mainly 2 factors... Good tires and the fact that both cars have 4wd... contributes greatly to their grip.. if you had fwd cars with this much power.. they'd probably spin... and even with good tires the traction would never be as great.

my scooby hasnt been beaten yet quarter mile,its totally standard and the small turbo spins up so quickly,however after the quarter it doesnt have the bhp to beat the really fast stuff,unles you throw some twisties in of course :)
