  • We filed on the 4th of February 2012. We were told it would be here 7-10 days from the 4th because we stupidly paid 200 bucks to get the check within two weeks! It is now February 21st and still no check! Getting worried.

  • This is beyond ridiculous no information people blaming tax preparers for this when its the IRS mess up. And you think they would update their site. I thought maybe my bank was holding off accepting the direct deposit but no its the IRS and they keep posting how you shouldnt depend on your refund to cover expenses..are they living in the same country as many of us who have bills to pay? The nerve of them its funny when a person is up for audit there systems are not slow.

  • When u owe the IRS take it right outta ur pay check but know we cant even get the taxes thats owed to us wow the nerve ppl r getting mad at the tax places n not the IRS this is very sad

  • This has never happen to me before i always get my tax return within 10to12 days after i file now this year its been almost 22 days im sad i need the money for bills n for my son i almost fill like im not going to get it for a whole month wow lol

  • The IRS normally sends refunds down once a week. We are seeing them coming down 3-4 times a week currently. They are also updating their "Where's My Refund?" site daily which is an improvement because they used to update once a week. Keep checking IRS.gov for new info. And, make sure when you are entering your refund amount, you are putting in your "FULL REFUND' before any preparation or bank fees. Some of my clients have been checking their status with the wrong refund amount

  • @jtvirg1419 So instead of the IRS receiving and acknowledging return instantly (via the new system) it's taking appox 24-48 hours for them to acknowledge your return. So people filing now are seeing their refunds in the original 8-14 days. Everyone else is still screwed. Refunds are taking up to 2 weeks longer than normal. Mine took almost a month!

  • @MegaTrolleater The delay is in processing the returns through the new efile system. The influx of returns bogged down the system and the IRS got backlogged with returns. Approximately a week ago, the IRS reverted back to the old efile system, often referred to as "legacy" processing.

  • I'm reading all your comments and feel the pain; yes the video might be over 1 yr old but the situation is true! Keep the comments coming, the IRS needs to know that the public needs to be informed about what is going on. I'm in the business & have clients that are having the same problems, I tell them to call, write....maybe someone should call a local news station & have them run a piece...maybe then the IRS will respond & get back on nat'l tv and update the public like they did last month.

  • this was uploaded in january of last year
