To answer your question, yes, I would date someone who is HIV positive. But then in dating I treat everyone as if they're positive and apply the appropriate precautions. Also, I test every three months after each intimate encounter (since 1987) and still test negative.
I love the fact that you guys touched on this topic because for those who are dating there are so many factors that we have to unearth when we meet someone. I'm not sure if you all have ever heard of it, but I just recently watched a documentary called "House of Numbers" All I can say is when It was over I was FLOORED at the information. I recommend everybody see this film.
@Teddybeer42: The basic point about using a condom apart from birth control is assuming that the person you are fucking with could be positive or have other STDs. So I understand being worried or frightened, when you actually know about the other person's status, but I no longer accept people protecting themselves on the assumption that the other person's not positive, because from my point of view, that is just ignorant and has more to do with yourself and not someone who's positive.
if you'd use a condom none of this was your problem its just stupid to just fuck with everyone without using a condom come on this disease is among us for almost 30 years!!!!!
i dated a girl with HIV and at the time she just wouldn't want to do it and i always wondered y, but she told me after we split up bc she was scared of what i would say to her or other ppl, and ya i was shocked about it but then after i was a bit angered at the fact that she didn't tell me, i would have still dated her, i am HIV Negative.
I am hiv+ and I am currently dating the best woman that God has ever created. I am a heterosexual man and I found out that I was positive 2mos ago. I was exposed to HIV from this girl that I was seeing for about 7mos. She never told me that she was a carrier, why I don't know, because I was feeling her so much that I could have learned about it voluntary. Having HIV does not mean the end of the world. If a person really is for you they will be by your side. Please get educated.
