I'm so sorry for her. Not as though its a bad thing, well it is... You get me...? Well, I'm near enough Samantha's age, and hey, my name is Samantha! But I'd never possibly live with this. ;] She's much braver then me!

I am a type1 of 26 years, and I find this to be unbelievably inspiring. Sam is going to have a wonderful life full of adventure love and yes challenges, but challenges that will make her better & stronger for humanity. God bless you Sam!

Embrace diabetes. Do we have another choice? Make this condition regret the day it hitched a ride on you. You be the boss, not the other way around. Make diabetes work around your life, and don't go out of your way for it. Play it's little game... You may lose some of the battles, you just make sure you win the war. - Signed a Father of a Type 1 diabetic. Son of a Type 1 diabetic. Grandson of a Type 1 diabetic, and last but not least, a Type 1 diabetic himself. Keep on truckin'...

i have type one diabetes, and i'm almost 14. i was diagnosed 7 years ago, making it practically half my life. im completely fine :)

I've had diabtes for about 8 years, im 13 it is really a lot about adjusting and getting used to it. The hardest part of i tis having to explain it to people. There are only 5 kids that know about my diabetes. Do i wish i knew what to say to those people? sure but some things are just better to keep a secret.

Samantha really doesn't want you to feel sad for her. She's great. Living with diabetes is hard work and requires a lot of vigilance. But she thrives and is very successful at living her life. This disease needs a cure, not sadness and sympathy. She would much rather you feel inspired by her, than sad for her. But thank you very much for your comments!

Sorry, I thought I responded to this a while ago, but it didn't show up. The song is "Your Misfortune", by Mike Doughty.

your video gave me the courage to get an insuln pump. I was diagnosed when i was 18 monthe old, in 1990. I am now just getting the courage to get a pump after 17 years of shots. Your daughter is inspiring.

Wow! Thank you for sharing that. Congratulations on making the decision to try the pump! It takes a lot of courage to try something new and different. We wish you nothing but the best of luck!
