Another iconic viewing platform a visit to beautiful Streaky Bay would be incomplete without. Unfortunately the roar of the ocean, the wind and spray (and this was on a mild day with a low-medium tide) blanketed out a lot of the audio on this one so I had to slip in an instrumental piece. The location gets its name from the "whistling" noise which can be occasionally heard in Streaky Bay that the blowholes around the viewing platforms make as the ocean swell rapidly fills the cavernous rocky perimeter undermining the area on which you stand. The pressure this wave action creates within the cavity is released through the blowholes upwards to the surface and is particularly awesome to experience on a stormy day with a high tide. Easier access has now been made available by the creation of an amazing "boardwalk" with the recent Govt. Stimulus Grants.
