@jcabb1 The navy considered it but they are unsuitable for carriers, The navy likes two engine planes, the landing gear is not strong enough for repeated landings, The nosewheel is too close to the inlet so it's a hazard for crews. The f-17 (which became the f-18 hornet) lost a competition to the f-16 for the airforce but was found to be suitable for Carrier use with some modifications.

How is it this can fly nice but the real plane needs fly by wire? is it because the CG is far forward on this RC compared to the real jet?

@hornitpilot You're welcome! I was just telling my buddy that I was kicking myself for not getting vid of what it looked like after the landing. You can't tell at all in this video.
BTW, the camera is a cheap Insignia. I didn't realize how sensitive it is to sound from me touching the camera and screen. Ugh!
