This is the opening track of what is perhaps Pilita's finest album of her career, Maala-ala Mo Kaya (1977). Ryan Cayabyab assisted in arranging and conducting some of the songs. The title track (this video) and "Dahil Sa Isang Bulaklak" are highlights of this superb album.

I saw this movie in GMA 7 during the late 70's after noontime shows. I would agree with @nikkihans2903 that the original singer was Carmen Rosales together with Rogelio Dela Rosa but as to who wrote the song I'm not so sure.

@nikkihans2903 Carmen Rosales was the original singer of Maalala Mo Kaya. This was also the theme song of the same movie with Rogelio dela Rosa.

Si Pilita ba ang original na kumanta ng Maalala Mo Kaya? i heard Nora Aunor's, Dulce and a lot more but I like Pilita's!

@nikkihans2903 , hi... the song was originally in spanish but the composer was a filipino, named Constancio de guzman. The original version was sung by Guillermo-Gomez Rivera - "No digas que tú eres pobre" [Maalaala mo kaya]. It was later covered by our very own Diomedes Maturan, Pilita Corales, Dulce, Mabuhay Singers, the Minstrels, Eva Eugenio, Leo Valdez, Ryan Cayabyab, Carol Banawa and others.
