Clara Arias Baumgarten, owner of ProSource Packaging, Inc. (www.Machine-Solution.com), outlines the outrageous business practices by the Office of Management and Budget/Federal Procurement Policy through a contracting award called the Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI) Blanket Purchase Agreement which is directed by the esteemed Mr. Daniel Gordon.
It really makes you wonder who is calling the shots. Everything that is being done appears to be to the detriment of US Citizens. An administration that puts it's own citizens, especially those working in small and medium businesses, at a disadvantage is not acceptable. Thank you for taking the time to point out the blatant anti-business practices implemented by our government.

Obama and Gordon are killing off 500 companies and 5000 jobs to include Disabled Veterans and Native Americans.
Bravo Clara give me hell! We fund every single bowel movement in the Middle East while we take the food out of the mouths of our own.

Unbelievable. I hope the current administration wakes up and allows more contract holders to be added to the FSSI program... or better yet remove the ENTIRE FSSi program altogether and allow fair competition. I hope d'Argenson's motto, "Pas trop gouverner" which means "govern not too much" resonates through Capitol Hill. Let's have CHANGE!

I am just utterly surprised with the futility of our government. God help us but it looks more and more like we are on the road to ruin. I wish President Obama and Mr. Gordon would take a $1 annual salary for the next 2 years as compensation for their horrible administration of our government.

Obama is a great talker..promises, promises, promises. it is not a surprise to hear that now the small business are now being "punished" when the federal businesses are given to the "big whales". Who is making these deals? most likely the office of management budget is getting a big piece of the pie. It reminds me when one of the military bases was paying thousands of dollars for a small screw that could be purchased for cents somewhere else. "we the people" must fight for fair competition!!

In the State of the Union address, on January 25, 2011, President Obama promised to "remove any roadblocks that stand in the way of small business growth". Let's see if the Government holds to his promises, or if the Government will contribute to massive layoffs from the small business which are struggling to survive!

It seems like every time the government gets more involved in something, the more it gets turned upside down. Do our leaders actually have good intentions, but simply cannot foresee the ramifications of their actions, or are they beholden to those that can contribute more to their campaigns? It seems obvious that limiting competition is not the way for the government to save costs. No wonder we are in such debt as a nation. We need more business people running the government at all levels!

Boy O Boy! Does anybody in our government have any common sense? These types of stories have a Forest Gump type of quality to them. Maybe they should be branded the 3 Amigos! Bankruptcy, unemployment, layoffs- this is what the future will bring unless this program is changed! Somebody in Washington, DC wake up and smell the espresso!

This FSSI BPA seems to be a very capricious use of our federal government purchasing practices. It reminds me of the Department of Defense buying $550 toiler seats and $200 hammers. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that our leaders have such incredibly bad judgment. If the face of all the unemployment, shouldn't our government be concerned with all the potential bankruptcies and unemployment? How can Office Depot be awarded a contract when so many governments have been overcharged? Shameful
