Mark Edumonson, professor of English at the University of Virginia, recounts an inspirational high school teacher in this discussion of his memoir, Teacher. This teacher, called Lears in the book, changed learning into an engaging experience that emphasized asking questions and changed Edmundons view on literature and life.
I recently had a thought about schoolwork, etc. Students who have access to computers should be allowed the option of sending their homework to their teachers, via email. It would be much quicker, as well as ruling out the possibility of forgetting homework and leaving it at home. I'm surprised it hasn't been put into action, now that we're at a time where most students have access to a computer of their own. Plus it's a lot easier to type than it is to write by hand. Lol. =o]
