Eve online - hunting down a "kill right" carebear

While roaming arround in low sec, my BB was destroyed by a high ss corp gatecamp - few days later i located one pilot that was involved in this "incydent" - he was running in a faction fitted maelstrom a L4 World Colide mission... so i scanned him down... and watch the rest ;]

why does everyone seem to think podding was even an option. besides the fact that kill rights don't allow podding, have any of you EVER attempted to lock a pod with a BS?
