Nothing wrong with the cat!...it is normal for cats to drink from their paws or from running water. In the wild, running water means "fresh and clean" water,and the paw used as a vessel for the water is natural,also.

Wow, never seen another cat do this. We have Coon who we know is retarded...she drinks the same way. She will also get pipe cleaners, dunk them in the water, and then suck on them. Weird.

Pipe Cleaners! Man, Jules has a "brother" named Tiberius. This cat can figure where any pipe cleaner in the house is and will dig it out of bags and play with it like it was coated in catnip. It's just bizarre!

Well Jules is an idiot. He's been eating Xmas ribbon and barfing up a storm. Had to put him on meds. He had a partial bowel obstruction that he finally passed. He resorted to drinking normally for a while there. Now he's all better, drinking his way and he's nice and trim. Nothing like a holiday feline bulimia episode to drop some weight

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: My cat did this BECAUSE SHE HAD AN INFECTION, GET YOUR CAT TO A DOCTOR. THE INFECTION KILLED MY CAT! It's an infection that begin in the teeth but then ends in the throat choking the cat

I haven't replied because I've been busy. Jules has been doing this for as long as we've owned him which is since he was a year old. He was adopted from the pound. Jules SOMETIMES drinks normally, but this is his preferred was of drinking. I just took him to the vet yesterday for his regularly scheduled teeth cleaning. Other than a little tartar because the fool won't actually chew his dry food and swallows it whole, he is very healthy. But I appreciate your concern.
