do you really believe that Prof. Lewis would change his mind and destroy his integrity because of some alleged Turkish money? honestly? Someone should tell "Professor" Lewis that the term "genocide" was invented by Raphael Lemkin (a Jew) and that Raphael Lemkin had the Armenians in mind when he created the term. So, who knows better what the term means, Raphael Lemkin -- the term's inventor -- or this "professor." You decide.

So...calling it "deportation" makes it any better? Eastern Turkey was the ancestral home of the Armenians for thousands of years, and to forcefully remove those people and send them into the Syrian desert was supposed to be a Turkish favour?

I agree with Lewis about the error in equating the Amernian genocide with the Holocaust -- they weren't the same. But that doesn't make what happened in 1915 not genocide; the Turks simply carried it out in a different way.

I am willing to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide if someone can just answer all of the points Bernard Lewis had just made. His points are very convening on this, I general hate this guy because I think he tries to construct this huge monolith of Islam trying to taking over the Universe, which seems to me an improper reading of history on his part, best answered by Edward Saed. However on this point he stand strong until someone can present new evidence.
