with this coming back into service next year wonder what stock its gonna have coz its gonna look very odd unless they repaint some stock to match the engine ?

@bwhugul Great to hear that the prototype will have an engine soon and a Valenta engine at that.

@faulcon1 The prototype should have an engine in it soon - it is hoped that it will start running again. Search "Project Miller".
Currently there are no HSTs in service using the original Valenta engines - the final run was on 22 December 2010 from York to Sunderland. The return of the prototype to service would be a first time that a Valenta engine has operated in a HST since then.

See my earlier comment from 2 years ago, and it seems there are like minded people out there who think this locomotive should have an engine put back in it. According to a press release from the 125 group, and the NRM, this will happen soon folks,!!

Lucky with us being now in a stage where we treasure what we create that one of the prototype hsts are actually stored, but sadly not preserved. Makes you proud to be British.
