Minnie Riperton - Loving You

1947年的11月8日，於芝加哥出生的蜜妮萊普頓 (Minnie Riperton)，自幼學習聲樂、戲劇與舞蹈。雖然有兩首單曲「Amen」和「Lady Jane」在FM地下電台大受歡迎，但是未能得到主流市場的青睞，因此她又開始尋求獨力發展的可能，她丈夫的李察魯道夫（Richard Rudolph）協助之下，於1970年推出了首張個人專輯「Come to My Garden」，可惜仍然是叫好不叫座，沒有獲得商業上的成功。在1974年，發表第一首單曲「Reasons」沒有受到太多注意，但是第二首單曲，由她和丈夫共同譜寫的­「Loving You」卻獲得了爆炸性的成功，於1975年1月首度進榜，11個星期後奪得了全美的冠軍，也讓全球歌迷注意到了這個驚人的美聲。只可惜，她就在 1976年就發覺自己罹患了乳癌。1978年，在錄製專輯「Minnie」的時候，她的癌細胞已經擴散到淋巴腺。在1979年7月12日病逝於洛杉磯，年僅31歲。在她過­世之後，唱片公司把她生前沒有發表過的錄音，加上了重新的編曲與和聲，命名為「Love Lives Forever」推出，為世人留下了永恆的懷念。

@jentx77642 Yep. She was saying "Maya" at the end of the song, in relation to her daughter Maya. Because the melody for "Lovin' You" was created as a distraction for her daughter when she was a baby so that Minnie and her husband Richard could hang out.

To be honest, I've often heard this song from childhood. However, I've not ever really known even a singer who sing this song.

Maybe, if You Tube didn't emerge on the Internet, I would not be able to acquire the information about this song and Minnie Riperton.
