@TheRealmsOfGold I have to agree this sounds way too much fun to be a Baroque piece, or even a sacred classical piece for that matter. Something to be played at a party.

Israel in Egypt and Saul are generally considered to his best Oratorios.

@achantus1 You said it! I took part in the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival this summer, and heard Diana Moore perform the most astounding rendition of a Handel aria. He had a great ear for tunes, both vocal and instrumental. I think that is at the heart of his enduring quality, in all the genres he wrote in.

@TheRealmsOfGold You've only scratched the surface, my friend. I've listen to Handel for more than twenty years, and I've found that I still have a lot to discover!

Somebody must put up the version done by the Akademie fur Alte Musik Berlin and Daniel Reuss, with the RIAS Kammerchor. I love the Akademie.

SATB All-State Chorus Kentucky! Amazing piece!
This choir is incredible!! I haven't heard any other choir do the bass line run on "rouse" so well! This is fantastic! Thank you so much for this.

First it was Solomon, then it was the Coronation Anthems... Handel is quickly becoming my favorite Baroque composer. I think it's the orchestra parts, really. He's just such a party animal with the trumpets and timpani. And his violin writing should be outlawed, it's so much fun.
If you're looking for more like this chorus, check out the final movement from "My Heart Is Inditing": "Kings Shall Be Thy Nursing Fathers."
