Some pictures of the derelict Arawak Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. This structure was intended to become a luxury hotel in the early 80's, but it was never used. It was damaged by hurricanes and looters beyond restoration.

I was just there last week and got a few minutes to explore around. My wife wasn't to keen on getting out of the car so I only spent about 10 minutes before she yelled for me. I go back in December and a friend of mine there said he'll explore with me. I hope to be able to find the staircase which I didn't find last time.

I went into this building in the late summer of 2004 while doing utility work for a power company after a hurricane and there were several hundred if not thousand giant yellow and black banana spiders in the main lobby. Scared the crap out of me.
