What a voice, what a singer...

@elameer1981 lol well, I understand that "first impression" we get when seing this. However, one has to know about Asala. She often stops everything and goes on her own with little vocalizes, playing with the audience, that's her style. The band didn't stop, she told them to, because she wanted to do it "a cappella", with more feelings", which got her near crying (as it often happens to her). She is quite special!

Asalah is the best

I love this song because although Dalida was Egyptian by nationality and born in Cairo, her parents were European though she loved Egypt just the same and loved to sing Arabic. Asalah sings it beautifully!
-

I would fire the band over this. I cant believe they turned off the music while she was singing. You can tell she was pissed off during this performance. Even the host looks at them: PLAY ONN
-
@borednow Asala is Syrian. In this show she is singing an old song, from early 70s (helwa ya baladi) by Dalida, an egyptian.
I do not speak arabc and yet this makes my heart skip a beat. Just sounds so sad. Sadder still to know that original singer of this song Dalida commited suicide.
