good video.. i'd just like to point out that if you plug the cable in back to front or otherwise incorrectly, its not just a case of it not working, the cable has a good chance of melting and/or catching fire (as the last 4 cables are the power supply) just as mine did about 12 years ago when i plugged it in while drunk.. haha oops :P

No problem man, I love AMIGA to this day but my A1200 was sold before they started having great options like this. I really tried getting into Atari computers even lately but I don't see them comparing in the least, AMIGA was incredible!
Very helpful tutorial!
I have an Amiga 500 with 1mb RAM, is it possible to add this CF card as a hard drive? Or is it just for the A600 and A1200? Thanks!

@zonaps2 Sorry but no, the A500 does not have an IDE slot on the motherboard so you wont be able to do this.

@Retrosofer have you seen the video uploaded by MN12BIRD called amiga 500 hard drive it seams he has a modded amiga 500 that has a harddrive added do you have any idia how this was done cheers

@zachthezombie From what i understand, because the A500 doesn't have an IDE port, you have to get a IDE controller and mod the system so it connect up. I dont know the specifics, but that basicly it in short from what i can tell.

Can I put Amiga ROMS on the card and play them on the machine?
Also Do I need to use workbench to access the files?
ScrewAttackEurope 2 years ago
No you dont need to have workbench to access any files on Amiga, you could use Classic Workbench. The roms on Amiga are in adf format which is disk images, these will work in real or emulated Amiga's. Also with WHDLoad they can be installed onto the hdd and the games played from there insted of the from disks.
