My great grand father served in France & was hospitalised with shell shock. He survived the war only to shoot his wife & turn the gun upon himself. The children were sent to an orphanage. A shameful family secret that no one spoke of, I grew up believing him to be a drunk & a murderer. I learnt the truth today through his military records. I like how you used the 50's etiquette news reel. Just like old footage of victorious soldiers marching home from war... it's all a facade.

My grandfather suffered from Shellshock after his 2nd tour of duty in 'Nam. I couldn't stand watching him. It made me sick.... sorry gramps... The neighbor started the lawn mower one time, and I have never seen a man hit the ground so fucking fast...
