Mabinogi: Flying with Wyverns

Flying with Wyverns:

My first experiences with Wyverns of Zardine in G8; in a hot air balloon and flying around amongst them on Flying Star Broom Pet. The one interesting thing I noticed was that like starting at sequence 1:35 and ending at 1:40ish, if you end up flying THROUGH ice shot from a wyvern, it does damage just as if you were hit with it head on apparently.

But because it can ride akin to a horse it can ride in horizontal mode in Tir, Dunbarton, Bangor, Emain etc. Once the new areas hit in G9+, like Tara, those areas I believe are coded so that it can ride both in horizontal mode and vertical mode. At least what I have seen in foreign server vids.

its only drawback is that it is a one-seater pet. However, you CAN chain a broom at the end of a pet chain. Have tried it and it works. (aka: I'd get onto someone's horse then call out my Flying Star broom pet and have a third person mount it) the broom then auto follows myself and other person that are on horse. This is excellent because with the birds we have found that you cannot chain them in a pet chain. I think this can only be done though if the broom is in horizontal riding mode.

yes, the Flying Star is a very versatile pet. It can ride akin to a horse (low to ground without option for upwards movement) or fly like the bird pets. Basically when you first mount the pet it is in "horse" mode - you can fly horizontal but not vertically. If you "lift off" ground as you would with a bird pet, you then have option to move up and down, as well as previous side-to-side motion. cont..

Are there any possibilities to fly with it in the other continent? Like in Dunbarton or Tir Chonaill?
