would any sain person assume that you assumed that the person approaching you is "your" God or whom you believe to be God?

@rodfam2k10 my friend you're forgetting that they all use one Quran and only one while the hundreds of sects in Christianity are using a different bible for each and every sect. and each of them are subdivided into few hundreds sects and each one of them concentrate on one or few passages in their chosen bible to formulate their own theology like playing with snakes and waiting for a comet. Muslims are using one and only one book and over 90% are sunni while what you mentioned are less than 10%

@mal438 Which is greater, for God to say "I am God" or for God to simply say to Moses "I AM, that is my name forever" (Exodus 3:16). Which is greater then? For Jesus to say "You call me Lord, and so I am" (John 13:13) or for Jesus to say "Before Abraham was, I am" (John 8:58).  We have told you and you do not hear us because you are not of the truth. Those who are of the Truth hear us (1 John 4:6)

@klvnry My friend you're forgetting the scores of Islamic sects like the Sunnis, Shi'ites, Sufis, Ahmadiyyas, Kharijites, Quranism, Twelvers and not to mention the Nation of Islam to name a few . Each one of could have multiple schools of iterpretation which further divides the system to the point of death. We're not Christians because of a "church", but we're Christians because we have followed the Gospel and repented of our sins and have turned our trust for salvation to Christ Jesus.
