Porter was a true country legend.It's a shame that Nashville has turned country into garbage with no talent guys and women dressed like streetwalkers.It's a slap in the face to all the true country talent of days gone by.

Thanks for posting!! I remember Grandpa Jones and Ramona doing this on the Opry years ago, but the first time I ever heard Porter Wagoner's version was when he led the Opry cast in this song after Grandpa Jones passed away. The line about "The only thing you'll take is what you gave away" is probably one of the best ever written.

@sassiedoll You are very welcome and I am glad I could help. I saw Porter in concert at 7 Clans Casino in Minnesota a year before he passed away. He and his crew ate at the buffet with us after the show, that was cool it also says a lot about the man. He made his fans feel more like friends.
