It's hard to imagine that it could be physical because a physical mark can always be forced upon somebody.

The book of Revelation also tells us that the Antichrist shows up at the time of the six vial, sixth trump and sixth seal. 666

Also I've heard that 666 is actually the number Caesar Nero if you add up the letter values of the Hebrew spelling of his name. Don't know for sure but he would seem to fit the bill. Nero had great power, was a relentless persecutor of the church and had Christians killed, tortured and even burned alive. And like other Caesars of that time people did worship him like a god.

I do agree with you that I don't think RFID is the mark of the beast. In fact I am a preterist and I think Revelation had more to do with the first century. I do think you may be over reading Ez 28 and Isa 14 as think these were judgments against Tyre and Babylon respectively and not necessarily much more.
