  • Again you bring tears to my eyes. this time another year has gone by I have cancer and i hope that this year will be so much better than the last year. There is a "place" I describe as a "purity of purpose", when everything is "right" and there are no strings attached or weights to hold you down. You sing like that. I thank you.

  • @mmillr47 Thank you for ALL your kind words - they mean so much to me. I wish you great health for the coming year. Rowna

  • Rowna, very moving and beautiful rendition. I have always loved his melody.

  • Thank you - to me - it isn't Erev Rosh HaShanna without this piece!

  • -Ingenious composition (the name of the composer?)

-Very moving reading of this Prayer

    -Beautiful chorus

A personal opinion: I believe we come to Earth to suffer

  • The composer is Max Janowski, a well known composer of mainly Jewish themed music. Your opinion of suffering certainly has one truth in it - everyone suffered at some point in time. Whether or not we were put here to endure that is a matter of opinion. I am a positive person and think we are here to challenge ourselves and do the best we can do for ourselves and the world. I hope you haven't suffered too much - that would be painful for me to imagine. I am glad you enjoyed the piece. Rowna

  • The posted video, "40 Years In 3 Minutes" likewise has some 8mm footage from the Ingomar United Methodist Church youth group 1971, edited tightly to The Beatles' GET BACK and GLASS ONION. It's a music video that revisits The Beatles along with events of the last 40 years. Enjoy.

  • Gulp! Moving and magnificent, A good new year to all, indeed.

  • Yes, the Church has a spire! The Pastor gave a beautiful sermon that was about sinning and being perfect - so the words to this beautiful piece of music were so appropriate. Before I became a Cantorial Soloist, I sang in many of the great churces in the US - including Emmanuel in Boston - the same church where Lorraine Hunt Lieberson got her start. Our music director was Craig Smith (RIP) who was just fantastic - we put on a full Bach Cantata each week with orchestra!

  • Dear Rowna, thank you for sharing this beautiful moment with us! It's really a great piece of music which transports many emotions! 5*****
