  • If it is that easy it would save me a huge amount of time and effort! I would love to be proved wrong and see a video of that. As far as I'm aware VGA to HDMI is possible through one cable but HDMI to VGA is NOT. I think it is not possible because HDMI uses something called HDCP that is meant for copy protection. The digital HDMI signal has issues converting to Analogue VGA.

But as I said if you can show me this is wrong I would be VERY happy.

  • On Amazon, search for: HDMI to Composite /S-Video Converter 3RCA CRT TV CVBS and you'll get what you want.

It runs very smoothly. There is some acceptable loss of quality, because you're taking a high definition video and reducing it down to a smaller signal. But again, very acceptable.

  • I'm being told by our vendor (after watching this video): "Its only passing the video audio and not mirroring the iPad "desktop" or other apps". I want to feed a Smart Board projector, which is just a regular projector after all, with a composite input. Bottom line: Will I be able to see everything from the IPAD with this, including the applications, the IPAD's "desktop" and web browser? All you really show here is the video, and no desktop. I want to believe. Please let it be true!

  • Why not an HDMI to vga you could get HD with that

  • cheers

  • I have upgraded the projector now and if you can go to £350 i would get the HDMI projetor

    Amazon search

    Acer P1201 DLP Projector (3D Ready, 3700:1, 2700 Lumens, 1024x768 XGA)

Although I dod have to purchase an optical converter as there was no audio out and the HDMI has the audio
