Some moody music by me set to images from the beginning of Robert Aldrich's disturbing, bonkers masterpiece, Kiss Me Deadly (1955). The doomed gal is played by the great Cloris Leachman.
@WarrenParkwoodLinden Thanks for your comment. I had the same reaction as you to the opening of KMD - it's powerful, disturbing film-making that shaped Lynch, the Coens, Fincher, and many others. The Oscars missed a chance to honor KMD this year when it shamefully excluded Maxine Cooper (Hammer's secretary Velda) from the In Memoriam segment. A second or two of her stumbling into the surf with Hammer (one of the greatest scenes in all of film) would have been appropriate. But ...no. Bozos.
A really effective rendering of one of the most memorable opening sequences of any movie I've ever seen. This was one of those films that I declared a personal favorite even before fully watching it the first time! Your score (which at times reminds me of "Scarborough Fair") has just the right melancholy feel.
