New Super Mario Bros. Wii - World 1-1 speed run

I found a quicker way to get the propeller mushroom ... this is 1 second faster than my old run of this level. I come very close to getting 454 (which might be possible) ... but a high 453 will be good enough for a speedrun

yeah seems wierd for a speed run, why not jump over the halfway flag, not bother with the mario spin cap, spend longer on the ground, do a triple jump to make it up the steep pipe jump without slowing down.

i do all this for prep for the rest of the game ... having the propeller for the rest of the game saves a TON of time

I beat it at 453 too.

Just keep trying you will get up to 461! I kept trying, then I went from 438 to 460! The world record is 461. I hope you beat it!

One thing you should try to do is spend more time on the ground when going over the wheels that rotate clockwise. This should increase your horizontal velocity and push you to that 454 mark.
