"Try a Little Tenderness" is a love song written by "Irving King" (James Campbell and Reginald Connelly) and Harry M. Woods, and recorded initially on December 8, 1932 by the Ray Noble Orchestra (with vocals by Val Rosing) followed by both Ruth Etting and Bing Crosby in 1933.

  • Mel from his Mel-tones period. Super smooth but he himself did not like this style (he loved to sing jazz and also hated the nickname, "The Velvet Fog" for the same reason). Nice but later Torme swings!

  • We had a big band 3 or 4 record set growing up I thought I heard it all

  • otis Redding did a version

  • i used to pride myself on knowing,I never heard this, only the 3 dog night version

  • outstanding

  • Great number by Mel and the Mel-Tones.
