AUST, TYLER WINSTON; age 21; of Rochester; passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009, during the night. Tyler was born April 8, 1988, in Pontiac, MI.

He was adopted into the loving arms of his family through the Michigan Foster Care System. Tyler attended Bloomfield Hills' Eastover Elementary School in the Deaf/HH program and then went to the Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint for his middle school education and graduated from Rochester Adams High School in 2006. Tyler was a very talented and loving young man who had a contagious, beautiful smile that lit up a room. He was known for his great sense of humor and was quick to help someone less fortunate. He was outspoken and straightforward about his views and expressed a strong desire to be a "World Changer." Tyler was the son of Richard F. Aust, Jr. and Ruth G. Achterhoff-Aust of Rochester; grandson of Richard and Bobbie Aust of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Rochester and Betty Achterhoff of Muskegon and the late Rolland Achterhoff; Tyler is survived by his nine birth siblings, maintaining closest ties to his sister, Poni, throughout his life; nephew of Tim (MaryLou) Achterhoff of Muskegon, Carol (Jim) Weber of Kalamazoo, Dan (Bonnie Hendrick) Achterhoff of Muskegon, Kathy (Scott) Chapman of Sterling Heights, Liz (Ed) McQuarrie of San Luis Obispo, CA; and 11 cousins; Tyler also had countless friends and touched the lives of so many who will remember him for his wit and generosity with so much potential.

He will be missed beyond what words can convey. Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Cemetery, 4701 N. Rochester Road, Rochester, MI 48306. In the event of the weather being inclement, services will be held in the mausoleum. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr. in Rochester, 48307. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Deaf C.A.N.!, 2111 Orchard Lake Road, Sylvan Lake, MI 48320.
