notice at :34 he anticipates the knife before the guy even attacks.... because he knows exactly when and how is going to attack... ina REAL fight.. you do NOT know WHEN or HOW he is going to attack, which is why shit like this is so fake. and a rip off.

@senseigk was that a haiku or something? Anyway, that budoshin JJ stuff looks great because of compliant students. All that twisting stuff won't work in real combat.

SuperMadKlown,
I understand your concern. On the street it's difficult or impossible to know what's coming. That's why you train in different scenarios. Yes, I knew the knife was coming because this is a training video. It was supposed to show one one many potential responses. As I hope you know, the more you train in street-type situations the greater your chances of survival in a real street situation. The more you know what to look for in an attacker, the better your chances of survival are.

Nothing looks nice on the street. Any technique in any art can be resisted &/or countered unless the opponent is distracted or caught off guard or it is a "proper hold" [once set resistance = injury]. In these instructional videos I do let a number of holds slide so the uke can execute a proper ukemi without injury. Techniques do result in joint injuries if held securely - from many experiences - plus ground impact.
Haiku? No. Multiple interpretations - in the eye/mind of the beholder.

I always say that 50% of every martial art is bullplop. This video proves it.
