P-40 owned by Tony Banta and is housed in Livermore, CA from what I understand. . It was originally restored in the 80's, but was badly damaged in a forced landing in 96. It was restored to this condition in 2001 taking 21 months to finish. This plane served in England around 1941 and survived the war.

Filmed with a Casio EX-F1 at 600 frames per second.

  • wow--------------love the prop driven more than the jets. Was this part of the "Flying Tigers"?

  • @reysaint1 From what I read about this plane it was sold to the RAF in 1941 and flew with the 133 squadron, so this plane really does have a lot of history.

  • I LOVE the sound of the 1,200 HP Allison engine. This is so beautiful !

  • @MegaGewehr It's amazing what these guys can do with a basket case of a plane. Time and money.... I'm glad they do it.

  • @mrbadx19 @sniffsnarff Sweet! Did you know I own a microcar? I have a 58 NSU Prinz. I think it is 23hp if I remember!

  • @taofledermaus Damn, I'm just glad to know there's more than one of those bastards flying!

  • @taofledermaus i just went to wisconsin in my smart, prolly spent $4 in gas. we got the world micro/mini car 2010 meet near chicago, should make some good vids there, my smart will be wearing plate "42" for the event.

  • @sniffsnarff I spoke with the owner of the white/orange T28 for a while and he said he flew his plane from CA to Oshkosh, and the fuel bill was $5500. These guys are WAY into their toys. I'm glad someone has the money to keep these flying.

  • Much more entertaining to watch this plane than the others, they just go too fast. :P
