This Hemichromis is the smalest. So they are very peaceful. But when they have fry, they are very evil too. Every time they nibble tail fins of red guppys.
If you care them from the bigining in small 54ltr tanks, they are very small and so very peacefull. You can keep them very good with Steatocranus casuarius or Steatocranus ultra slender.
The real Hemichromis cristatus have all time a dot at the radix of the tail fin. BUT NOT - or very sallow - WHILE THEY HAVE LAYING EGGS! ;-) Look in the vid.
