Anyone is welcome to add English and Japanese captions to this video:
http://captiontube.appspot.com/
(just paste the link to this video after clicking "Specific Video...")
If you want, you could make three separate Japanese tracks for romaji, all kana, and kana/kanji. The transcripts of the skits are in the textbooks. You can email me the captions at japloosh@gmail.com

i'll answer ur questions in the order u asked them

    1. 8:15 is hachiji juugofun "8時15分"

    2. asa "朝" means morning in general gozen "午前" stands for A.M. as in 9 a.m. (also, gogo "午後" is P.M.)

    3. u may have misheard this word

it's dekakemasu "出かけます" and the original form (root word as u described it) is dekakeru "出かける"

btw if ur computer doesn't display the japanese i apoligize

i'm used to writing in kanji or kana

  • this is my last question- what is the root word for "dekakimasu"? is it "dekaku"?

  • are "asa" and "gozen" the same? coz i search the word "morning" from a japanese-english dictionary and it's written as gozen?

  • the same as the question of ZShakib- how do u say 8:15?

  • the time thing isn't as confusing as the rest of the stuff but i'm still gonna have to go over this video again sometime

  • 加藤さんは毎朝6時にすっぽんぽん

  • scratch that! WTF was wrong with me! XD

  • THX! ^^

  • Ni is 'at', Goro is 'about'.

6 Ji ni okimasu. (I get up AT 6)

6 Ji goro okimasu. (I get up at ABOUT/around/approximately 6)
