just a quick clip of the Scale Runner mini-game from Rocksmith. I didn't do great, but this was my first try, and the gameplay wasn't explained so I had to figure it out as I went. I just wanted to get a clip onto YouTube to show my friend since I couldn't find one.

  • It isn't obvious from this video- are there separate minigames for the different scales or do you go all sorts of scales as you play the one minigame and you just start on the pentatonic?

  • @RyxEuclie you choose the scale and then the key. The other mini-games focus on other techniques such as bends, slides, trem picking, etc.

  • @adolson How long did it take you to adjust to the way the game is setup? im going out and buying this game pretty quick. another question can you download and add pieces of music? im really wanting to take a crack at some metallica tunes

  • @thomas242007 no DLC and no Metallica. They promise DLC is coming soon, though, so that answer will be yes eventually. They should have had at least one or two songs ready for this past week, but they didn't. :( As far as adjusting to it, well I flipped the strings so it's a little more like a guitar tab, but still not the same. I'm getting the hang of it, but the scale runner mini-game isn't fun for me. Playing the songs is.

  • I'm guessing this would help you improve your speed and accuracy loads.

  • This looks amazing!

  • @RyxEuclie I can play scales, too. I used to practice them a lot when I was in high school, but not so much in the past 10-15 years. This video was recorded the first day I played the game and the first time I tried this mini-game. The seizure-inducing visuals and colored strings definitely threw me off. After playing many more hours of Rocksmith, I'm getting used to the string colors and I can do a lot better in this mini-game.

  • i normaly suck at my scales, witch is embarrassing for a guitar player like me, but this helped me sooo much

  • how many different scales??

  • i now have a vid up for ya cause you said you wanted to see the high scores

  • This game is so good, and the scale runner game is fun as hell on my way to being in the top 10 on this mini game too. good try though bro

  • Man i really want this game but it's not coming out in Europe for like 6 months or something. I need to order this from the US for my PS3 but it costs like £55-£70, which is a lot! But yeah, i would love to try this out too as i've been playing for a few years

  • @adolson I could do it in my sleep if I had a copy of the game, haha! This was week one when I took guitar lessons, though I believe I started in the first position rather than the 8th. The only way this looks confusing is due to the fact that what string you play is denoted entirely by color rather than what string it is. I guess itd be pretty confusing to give the actual string numbers somehow.

  • @venpresath do it up, post a vid! I tried a couple more times and I can't get even close to the score needed for the trophy/achievement... I'd love to see it done.

  • I would be so fast at this o.o

  • :O i know how to do that

  • This is pretty interesting.
