Yes. Joe was always one of the slickest, fastest, killer guitarists. I saw him at the Adelphi in Slough around 1964. He still looks the same.

This guy is the dogs bollocks!

Deana3451. Better version than Ted Mulry gang, that's a band here over in Australia, they did not last long..

Great song, used to live near a chap who played in a band with Dave Edmonds years ago.

Joe Brown was a great session musician, refused to change his name, as Larry Parnes wanted, and remains one of the UK's secret weapons!! One day we'll unleash him on an unsuspecting world!!!

Listen to the original it's great!!

Great! Joe looks like Ronnie Dawson's brother )

Heavens to Murgatroid! Never knew before now that anyone had done a "ROCKIN" version of "Darktown Strutter's Ball". What a delight to listen to today for the first time! THANKS for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us to enjoy! :)
this guy is incredible. He had backed all of the best rock 'n' roll singers Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and 48 years later he's still here and well. Respect Mr Brown.

As a teenager, I was watching the Oh Boy! TV show. Marty Wilde was the star, but this spiky haired blond lad in the background, playing guitar, caught my old Dad's eye. Not a rock and roll enthusiast, he murmured, pointing at Joe Brown - "There's your REAL musician!" Very perceptive and so true!
