Brian Doherty on Ron Paul's Revolution

Brian Doherty sat down with ReasonTV to talk about his new book and how Ron Paul has changed politics in America. Doherty wrote about the evolution of the libertarian movement in his 2007 book "Radicals for Capitalism: A Freewheeling History of the Modern American Libertarian Movement". He has been following and writing about Ron Paul and his movement since then. Doherty examines Ron Paul's influence in a new book out May 15, "Ron Paul's rEVOLution: The Man and the Movement He Inspired".

Brian Doherty "documents the meteoric rise of Paul from relative obscurity to national prominence, and examines the fanatically devoted political movement that has arisen around him."

Doherty spoke with ReasonTV in January while covering the Iwoa caucus to talk about Ron Paul's campaign and the movement that has been built around him primarily over the past four years.

Be careful what you wish for. I am in a country where we have social healthcare. I need a knee operation. I see my doctor on october 29th. I may get operated on in 18 months. Believe me that it does not work well. Problem the U.S. has is fourfold: 1. big pharma buys gov't. 2. lawyers 3. insurance companies buy gov't. 4. too many regulations. The U.S. cannot have social heatlhcare and survive.....as a fifth problem includes very very bad eating habits and food supply. A sure recipe for failure.

Read it, and all I can say is that this book is totally bad ass!! I've followed and supported Ron Paul hard core since 2007 when I found out about his freedom message, I've read every book that Ron Paul has ever wrote and I thought I wouldn't learn much from this book, but I bought it anyway out of largely curiosity, and man am I glad I did. This book was a total delight, and I learned so much from this book that I didn't even know, and it's really got me looking at many other topics!!
