Response from journalist accused of lying about AIDS diagnosis

Note to Youtube Staff: The knowledge that Catherine A. Fitzpatrick is the online persona known as Prokofy Neva is public information. She revealed her own identity in an article published by WIRED magazine here:

Description: After the publication of an article that I wrote advocating marijuana law reform for medical patients, someone posting as Prokofy Neva, the online persona of one Catherine Fitzpatrick has publicly called me a faker when Peter J. Ludlow linked to my article from his blog. Because I have no shortage of enemies on the internet and because I am aware of the human's tendency to see what they want to see, I am responding to this speculation in order to prove my diagnosis to the extent possible. The very idea that I am a 'faker' as Fitzpatrick said, undermines my purpose for writing the piece. It was meant to garner political support for marijuana law reform.

When a reputable independent journalist not linked to McCracken by being his boss at a local shopper, or not otherwise linked, can interview an actual doctor who is authorized to publicize the diagnosis, then we could believe it.

Until then, it is merely another form of griefing.

I will definitely not be making any public apologies whatsoever about this matter. It's a tragedy for McCracken's family that he died of AIDs from negligent behaviour and refusal to take meds, but that's no reason to continue his online stalking and bullying of me. He harassed me and my tenants for years and lied about a great many things while griefing in Anonymous, and I and others had no reason to believe him. I excercised my right to journalistic skepticism and expression. The end.
