Silenced During NATO Aggression African Union Calls Gaddafi "Hero Of Africa"

Mostly silenced by CNN, BBC and the rest of Western media African Union gets rare chance to condemn distraction of the Libyan state by NATO alliance. Obedient to the interest of NATO Al Jazeera grills representative of African Union for his outrage over the brutal attack on the independence of most prosperous African country that for decades helped to fight apartheid and poverty on the continent.

The "great democracies" of the West have been the most consistent and most persistent enemy of the African countries: during slavery, during the scramble for Africa after the Berlin Conference, during colonialism, during apartheid and now during 6 month old Inhuman bombing campaign to recolonize Libya.

NATO waged another wars to preserve the profit of multinational corporations; and these corporations profit at our expense. Multinational corporations that control Western governments try to prevent the liberation of poor Americans and Europeans as much they try to prevent the liberation of Africa and the Arab world. Why don't they demonstrate a concern for social justice at home before they wage war abroad? They should know, as we pointed out elsewhere, that Libya before brutal aggression was the highest ranked African country by the Human Development Index and that Libya for decades helped its "sub-Saharan" African brothers and sisters.
People of the continent appreciate what Libya has done for Africa.
Gadhafi took Africa off its knees. He provided the continent with billions of dollars for developing, etc.
Britain and France were most eager to commence airstrikes against Libya. These former colonial powers scamper to re-inflate their respective economies and secure an unsustainable energy supply. They approach Libya in 2011 in the same way that they approached the West Indies in earlier centuries.
NATO started false fight "to protect Libyans" when we see the Sultan of Bahrain massacre unarmed demonstrators with the help of two thousand Saudi soldiers sent by the United States. To say that West fights for Democracy in Libya when NATO helicopters and weapons are used to suppress a democratic uprising in Yemen is an insult not only to people of Africa, but all the people of the world.
Colonel Gaddafi is the enemy of the West because he uses petrodollars to fuel an ambitious programs to renew Libya's infrastructure, to build schools and hospitals and to industrialize the country when they could be used to pay the multibillion bonuses of wealthy executives in the United States, Britain, France and other NATO states . Gadaffi is a target because he doesn't take dictates from Washington, London or Paris or subject Libya to America's military command. He's a "mad tyrant" because he was Africa's freedom fighter.

With Libya's transitional leadership saying they awaite state visits by British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, some analysts are warning that Africa may yet face echoes of its colonial past.

­Gaddafi's Libya was the engine uniting Africa, argued Dan Glazebrook, a political analyst on the Middle East. And a united Africa, he noted, would have meant a final break from the centuries of Western colonial rule over the continent.


"Gaddafi was the main driving force behind founding the African Union in 2002," he told RT. "His country was the main financial contributor to the three major financial institutions of the African Union: the African Central Bank, the Investment Bank and the African Monetary Fund. Between them, they would have posed a huge challenge to the IMF hegemony in Africa."


Moreover, Libya's dinar, which was proposed as the single currency of the union, would have posed a threat to the US dollar, British pound and French franc as the main currencies in Africa.


"All of this is a threat to Africa's subordinate role in the global economy," claimed the political analyst.
