This is a work in progress video showing my work on the HMM Zoids Godos, A model released by Kotobukiya in collaboration with Takara Tomy in Nov 2011, this retails for 4,200 yen.

This model has been fully painted with a combination of Rustoleum, Humbrol, Tamiya and Citadels paints. Kosutte Ginsan was also used to create the chrome effects on several components.

  • AWESOMMMMMMMMMMMME. Bro this is beautiful! give us the finished slide show allready ^^! Man I envy your brush control bro... its like you have Mechanical hands hahah! too sick.

THe level of detail you add and bring out of these kits its outstanding man... seriously. You make these kits look a thousand times better.

Thanks for taking the time to share your WIP ! It helps people appreciate the level of work you put in man. Inspirational.

  • @kamniks Thanks Kamm, there are a lot of elements of the kit that went well, but I was unhappy with a few areas, particularly some of the metallics (rushing when spray painting and the winter weather).

I was going to submit this for MAC 2012, but I have another kit I want to try for the competition (and the scheme I have in mind will push my skills)

This was a really fun project and I can't wait to get the finished slideshow completed, going to pose it with the Dark Horn for comparison.

  • This is fantastic work TC. I remember you saying that this was one of your favourite jobs, and the effort you put into this, definitely warrants it being called your favourite :)

have you decided what you will be naming this guy yet? Can't wait to see the completed video for this. Be sure to have pics of him next to Grond!

Also, (sorry for jumping the gun) what will you be working on next?

  • @Appasionata88 Thanks for the great feedback Appa, as a complete kit it does look pretty decent, but their are still a few flaws in places. I got great results with the Kosutte Ginsan on the kit, that was a really pleasing element of the project.

Haven't picked a name yet, by Grond will be in the finished display pics!!

Not sure what I'll tackle next, I've tons of kits in my backlog, I kinda fancy a HG or the EVA Type F I got last year. Also have to finish the Ferrari F1 I started last year!

  • Always OUTSTANDING!

  • @trejosam00 Thanks, hope you'll like the finished kit.

  • @tc012009 I have Heavy Arms on pre order. Should arrive soon.

  • @cadderly Humbrol is hugely popular in the UK and very easy to source in Ireland (my local hobby store carry all of their line). I like their paint (especially the gun metal), but they are nowhere near the quality of Tamiya IMO. The liquid mask is very handy, particularly with unusual shapes and difficult to access areas.

Thinking of starting a D-Style Aaliyah next, with armor fully coated with Kosutte Ginsan, it will either turn out great, or a complete car crash (but it will be fun to try!)

  • @gunplanut They're a different build experience than gunpla. The smaller kits are somewhere between a HG and MG in complexity. The bigger HMM kits are much more akin to a PG.

I've build two HMM Zoids (I've also a unbuilt Saber Gold) and had tons of fun with both, I'd certainly recommend these kits to an experienced modeler like yourself.

Hope you are keeping well. Will you be picking up the MG Heavyarms (I've one on the way!) or any of the newly announced kits?

  • @MrDannii83 Hehe, I big plans for 2012, I got some lovely kits on the way!! Hope you are keeping well.
