Trying to clean the glass of my oscar tank but this Red Oscar wont have any of it.

Here is a picture of them togeather on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tanktv/149877563/in/set-72057594077979918/

Here is his "world famous" partner, the oscar in the background. This photo is the main one for Oscar on Wikipedia :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/tanktv/142309507/in/set-72057594077979918/

Some answers to FAQ:

How old is he?
I got this fish at the end of 2001. He is still alive (august 2010). The background oscar died in 2009 however. Here is a picture from January 2002 from my old 500 litres / 132 gallon tank http://www.flickr.com/photos/tanktv/118962025. He is defiantly over 9 years old, maybe 10 (august 2010).

What do you feed him?
He eats mostly fresh meat, fish and shrimp. I never feed him feeders.

How big is the tank?
The tank is 260 litres or 69 gallons. The only inhabitants at the time of the video where the 2 oscars. Too be honest I think this tank is too small for such big fish. To counter that I did weekly water changes.

Why are you using that brush?
I'm using that brush because I was having an evil algea problem and its just more efficiant than magnet cleaner and part of the weekly water change routine.

No pleco?
A pleco may clean the glass, but to be with such big fish he must be of considderable size. Big plecos leave alot of waste that contribute to bad water quality that leads to even more algea. Also bigger plecos are generally more lazy when it comes to glass cleaning in my experience. I do love big plecos but this tank just can't handle it.

  • How does your tank even get to this stage?

Man I will kill my self before my tank reaches to that stage!

  • @mkh4n The tank was next to a window on the sunny side of my apartment with no blinds at the time. This happens in 2-3 days during severe algae attacks.

So please Don't embaresse yourself any further, You've already made me laugh my ass off with your failure in grammar.
